Foundation Ensemble’s Call for Proposals for “Sustainable Development and Job Creation”

The Foundation Ensemble has renewed its call for proposals for the year 2011 under the “Sustainable Development and Job Creation,” supporting the emergence of local microstructures and environmentally-friendly sources of employment.

As this is a Program Fund of the Foundation, covering 85% of its Annual Endowment, it covers areas of water/sanitation and sustainable development. In 2011, the Foundation intends to concentrate its operations in seven countries: Benin, Malawi, Mozambique, Cambodia, India, Laos and Peru.

The Foundation strongly encourages applicants to study previously funded projects through its website to get the idea of its granmaking processes. Projects are usually funded for a period of 2-4 years or even 5 years. The maximum funding available per year is 50,000 Euros with a maximum of 250,000 Euros for the entire project duration.

Some of the example projects funded previously include:

  • 1001 Fontaines pour Demain (1001 Fountains for Tomorrow): Microenterprises for purification and sale of drinking water.
  • Inter Aide Water sources: Establishment of a maintenance system for replacement parts involving distributors and repairmen.
  • Entrepreneurs du Monde (Entrepreneurs of the World): Microfinance for the production and sale of improved stoves.
  • Solar Aid Microenterprises for the distribution of solar products.

A 3-page application form is available at the Foundation’s website to download, complete and submit it. The deadline to submit applications is 11 February 2011. For more information, visit this link
