Think About Starting up a Service Learning Project: Sustainability Challenge Grant Deadline Oct 15

When I saw this announcement from Shane Tedder, UK’s Sustainability Coordinator, I thought: «Wouldn’t this be a great way to fund a community-based service learning project?»

Funding for sustainability-focused projects at the University of Kentucky is available from two campus initiatives: the Sustainability Challenge Grant program and the Student Sustainability Council.

Sustainability Challenge Grants

The Sustainability Challenge Grant program is designed to engage multidisciplinary teams from the University community in the creation and implementation of ideas that will promote sustainability by simultaneously advancing economic vitality, ecological integrity and social equity, now and into the future. A total of $100,000 is available with awards for individual projects ranging from $5,000 – $25,000 with the intention of funding 6-8 projects.
