The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program seeks to encourage talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics majors and professionals to become K-12 STEM teachers. Track 1: The RobertNoyce Teacher Scholarships and Stipends Track provides funds to support scholarships, stipends, and academic programs for undergraduate STEM majors and post-baccalaureate STEM professionals to become highly effective STEM teachers; these individuals commit to teaching for 2 years in high-need local educational agencies for every year of scholarship/stipend support. Track 2: The NSF Teaching Fellowships Track provides funds to support fellowships, academic programs, professional development, and salary supplements for STEM professionals, including retirees from STEM professions, who enroll in a master’s degree program leading to teacher certification or licensing; these individuals, referred to as NSF Teaching Fellows, commit to teaching for four years in high-need local educational agencies.
